Aaron Taylor-Johnson has bagged himself yet another comic book role, going from Kick-Ass to Quicksilver and now to Kraven the Hunter for Sony.
The one-time Avenger, has been cast as the Spider-Man villain in Sony’s new Marvel film, directed by Triple Frontiers J.C Chandor.
Sony announced the news in a press release this afternoon. The film, like Venom and Morbious, will be a standalone story in Sony’s Universe of Marvel licenced characters, and is being billed as the next chapter in Sony’s own Marvel universe.
Art Marcum, Matt Holloway and Richard Wenk wrote the screenplay. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing.
The news comes out of left field, with many still believing he could have potentially returned as Quicksilver in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, somewhere down the line. But, instead he’s playing a villain in Sony’s sandbox of Marvel characters.
